There is no force of ANY kind. The choice is completely free. Next, the magician shows four cards to the spectator. Each card is a factory misprint of sorts, with random numbers on their backs and random pips on their faces. Without any pumping or fishing, the magician asks the spectator to look at the face of each card, and then the back of each one. Instantly, the magician knows the name of the spectator's thought-of card! There is no pumping or fishing and no guesswork involved. The magician knows - with complete certainty - which card the spectator merely thought of!
