Growing up in rural West Texas, I developed a love for the State of Texas. I loved the beauty of the land and friendliness of the people. I came to understand the mystique of Texas, what John Steinbeck famously referred to as something more profound, something exceeding a mere "state of mind."

Years later, as I first began designing playing cards, I dreamed that some day I'd introduce to the world a very special deck - a deck unlike any other - that would adequately express my deep affection for this place.

That day is finally here.

I've made certain that the decks in this series are worthy of their namesake, worthy of the millions of friendly, hardworking, self-determined people that have called it home. I've spared no expense for this project. From the highest quality playing cards available, to the most sophisticated printing methods for the packaging, I've overlooked no detail in the design and production of this deck.
