53 Films Playing Cards by Mark Shortland

This is Mark Shortland's third deck produced from original artwork. Each was painted while working as a headline performer on board cruise ships around the world.

Each card shows a different iconic movie costume.

Each original painting is 20cm x 25cm in size and painted in acrylic on artists' paper.

These paintings were then scanned in high resolution and the digital file was used to make each playing card. The artwork has not been enhanced or changed from the original work unless absolutely necessary.

Mark's own handwriting and drawings are used for the indices.

The deck contains 56 cards; 52 playing cards, two Jokers and two information cards telling which film the costumes are from.

The cards are expertly printed by Cartamundi on their Slim-Line paper/board (FSC, black core board - thin, snappy, soft to the touch). This board is combined with the TRUE LINEN B9 FINISH.

The back design was created digitally by Mark Shortland. It is simple, elegant and based on the old-style celluloid film. It is the same in either rotation.

Each deck comes cellophane wrapped inside a bespoke tuck box which is also wrapped.
