FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1) Is the FMT-3 system just another magnet detector?
Hell no! The FMT-3 Deluxe Package includes a magnet detection module but the FMT-3 receiver (also included) is modular and expandable, this means our future electronic releases will "communicate" with your pre-existing FMT-3 receiver (see point 11 for module expansion possibilities).

2) How does the receiver cue the performer?
The receiver acts as a "thumper"; you will feel clear, easy to understand vibrations when certain stimuli are triggered by the external modules. There is also an LED on the receiver that lights to the same effect as the vibrations, so you could have your receiver sat on a bookshelf at the other side of the room, if you so wished.

3) How does the encryption work?
Unlike some other electronic systems on the market, your FMT-3 receiver/thumper will ignore all external modules not pre-paired with it. Perfect for magic competitions where there is a chance another performer may have the same system; it eliminates any possibility of signal interference and false readings.

4) How big is the FMT-3 receiver?
The receiver is very small; only 60 x 35 x 20mm - easy to hide in your belt, strap to your leg, or simply put in your pocket.

5) Do I need to wear sleeves with the magnet detection module?
No, the magnet detector is wireless and small enough to be concealed underneath a wrist band. The magnet detector can also be hidden in other objects including bags and boxes. It is also worth noting that the magnet detector itself does not vibrate; so no more getting caught out if you hold your hand too close to theirs. This also allows for contact mind reading (touching the spectator's hands) to create the illusion of muscle reading.

6) What is the magnet detection range?
The magnet detection module can detect a magnetic field from a 9cm range (the stronger the magnet, the larger the range). The magnet detector can also decipher magnetic poles meaning you can also correctly identify whether a poker chip (included) or coin (sold separately) is heads or tails side up.

7) What is the transmission range of the external modules?
The receiver can pick up signals sent by the transmitters from up to 30 meters with ease in an open environment with no walls.

8) Can signals be picked up on the other side of walls?
Yes, but walls will lower the range so always test before performing.

9) What does the key fob module do?
Included in the FMT-3 Deluxe Package is an innocent looking key fob that can be used by a secret assistant to send the performer up to SEVEN different codes. With this the performer can be coded directions around a room in feats of "muscle reading", secretly coded ESP symbols, objects and more!

10) What about batteries?
The individual external modules take regular CR2032 button-cell batteries while the receiver takes AAA batteries. The batteries in the magnet detection module will last approximately 6 hours of continuous use; the receiver will last approximately 18 hours; the key fob will last years. But fear not, the FMT-3 will actually warn you when the batteries are running low! (batteries not included).

11) What external modules can I expect to see in the future?
Currently in development (August 2013) are motion sensitive electronic chips that can be secretly hidden in objects allowing the performer to know which items have been picked up or moved by a spectator. Also coming soon are color detectors and more.

12) Is there a manufacturer's warranty?
Yes, a 12 month manufacturer's warranty is included so be sure to keep hold of your proof of purchase.

13) What is the estimated life span of the FMT-3 system?
This purchase is an investment, it's not something that will be outdated in six months; it's an intelligent unit that will move with the times and keep you blowing minds for years to come as more modules with more possibilities are developed and released.
