Introducing The BIG Prediction Writer by Robert Malissa of Philly Magic Tours
A classic mentalism idea, made lightyears better!
The Effect
Anyone or a series of people call out digits from 0 to 9. You write them down on a white board with a red or black dry erase marker in the order they shout them out. Clipped to the back of the board, in plain sight the entire time is a manilla envelope.
You detach the envelope, spin the white board around to verify the numbers you wrote are correct, and then reach into the envelope, and pull out a single 6" x 4" index card. You turn the card around and written in large numbers in black crayon is the correct number, a 1 in 10,000 prediction! If you had real powers, this is what it would look like.
This is a new system for predicting the answer to any question answered by your audience. It is best for small words, names, or numbers. The routines are only limited by your imagination.
Key points:
Robert Malissa runs "The Great Philadelphia Comedy Magic Walking Tour". He needed an audience participation trick for everyone to do while visiting a large plaza. He asks the whole audience a trivia question and those that are correct move 1 giant step forward. He asks two more questions and those that know the answers move forward. The number of people in each row is counted and that is the basis for a 4 digit number that is written on the board, which matches the prediction in the envelope which has been in plain sight the entire time.
This is a worker routine that has been honed over hundreds of performances.
