Cognition (Extra, Extra Large) by Ray Joel and MagicfromHolland - Trick

Ray Joel has taken a classic magic trick from his Magic Kit into a whole new level. This one WILL fool even your fellow magician.
It's an unbelievable but above all a fun and entertaining trick.

The Effect:
A spectator is asked to think of a number between 1 and 30. When he has one in his mind, the magician draws attention to his T-shirt. The shirt contains several cogwheels with numbers. The magician asks if the spectator sees his freely chosen number inside the wheels. The magician then concentrates and calls out a number. But wait... he's wrong, because he is off by one.

Maybe something went wrong, so he gives it another try. Another number is picked and the process is being repeated. But again, the magician calls out a number which is off by one...

Then for the climax the magician turns around and reveals he has been right the whole time! He is always off by one!

We like to combine Cognition with a standard card trick, were we reveal a playing card which is also off by one, to the one the spectator selected, thus making this trick a FUN and ENTERTAINING routine.
